This area was of major industrial importance to Germany after WW2 with coal and steal works, and has had a great deal of redevelopment in the last thirty years. I intend on stopping off on route to Nuremberg to sample a small German village and a bit of history to boot.

Boy are there lots of tolls to pay on these autobahns!
